Susan Atherton Hanson is the principal author for Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs/ Tule Springs Ranch Historic Area Docent Manual. The property is an historic site and public park, operated by the City of Las Vegas, NV. It contains multiple place-over-time interpretive elements, ranging from early Native American habitations to a 1950s divorce ranch. The Docent Manual outlined the docent duties, provided documents and information to supplement docent training and offered answers to many of the questions and problems docents are likely to encounter in the field. Topics included: site history, bibliography, site operations, policies and emergency procedures. The Docent Manual emphasized guided tours, tour strategies, tour routes through the property and guidance on working with visitors. The Docent Manual was one element of a multi-part project which HHM Inc. of Austin, TX conducted for the City of Las Vegas. Susan Hanson served as Museum Specialist for the project team.
